This is a fully polished fossil piece of Burmite (Burmese) amber that contains a very rare, large plant sprig, most likely from the now extinct Metasequoia tree that is believed by some to be one of the trees responsible for producing the resin that fossilized into Burmite (Burmese) amber over millions of years. The sprig measures approximately 20 mm in length. The sprig would have been from a plant that was on the Earth when dinosaurs still walked! It would have aided in producing oxygen for them to breathe.The piece itself weighs 1.2 grams with approximate dimensions of 2.3 cm length by 1.4 cm width and 0.4 cm height. NOTE: 2.54 cm is 1 inch. I have been selling amber fossils for over 10 years on eBay and do not sell fake amber only genuine material from now extinct plant sources not glass or plastic embedded with present day inclusions. Burmite (Burmese) amber is difficult to acquire and has been dated to be Cretaceous in age (around 100 million years old) and would have been sticky resin during the time of the dinosaurs and is being mined in the Hukawng Valley in Myanmar (Burma).NOTE: I have been selling Burmite (Burmese) amber for years on eBay.
