ANOTHER FANTASTIC RARE SMITHS MILITARY STYLE DIVER WATCH FIND FROM TIMEISPRECIOUS. AN ORIGINAL CIRCA 1968 ‘BIG HOUR’ STAINLESS STEEL MILITARY/DIVERS STYLE WRIST WATCH FROM CIRCA 1968. PRE-OWNED AND IN EXCELLENT CONDITION A SUPERB AND EXTREMELY RARE SMITHS MILITARY/DIVERS STYLE WRIST WATCH FIND FROM TIMEISPRECIOUS. I AM A 100% POSITIVE EBAY SELLER SINCE 2002-BID AND BUY WITH CONFIDENCE!! FRESH FROM AN ESTATE SALE AND NEVER OFFERED ON EBAY BEFORE!DEFINITELY ONE FOR THE SERIOUS COLLECTOR. CASE: This is a lovely two piece screw back watch case. The case itself is in EXCELLENT original condition with only a few light nicks/marks for its 54 years of age. The watch measures approximately 3.2cms (32mm) In diameter, excluding the large crown. This is a stunning and beautiful QUALITY original MILITARY/DIVERS STYLE watch case. DIAL: This is a STUNNING fully signed black military looking dial. The dial is signed “SMITHS JEWELLED” in white painted lettering with the wording underneath ‘Made In GT Britain’ on the bottom of the dial. It has lumed baton numerals with Arabic quarters, bordered by a white minute track. The hour markers are lumed. They look totally original, and look have the ORIGINAL lume still on which has browned slightly. The beautiful steel hour and minute hands are in excellent condition retaining the original lume too and showing a little natural corrsion. The centre second hand is steel and has a small square in the last third of the hand. This is a really lovely dial in nice condition. The crystal seems to be a replacement and is in excellent condition. These have now been dusted off. MOVEMENT: This is a clean and absolutely genuine unsigned CAL 512 jeweled manual wind movement. It has a beautiful finish. This beautiful movement has just been timed and oiled by my watch maker. The watch winds smoothly, sets with ease and has good friction. It is in full working condition. The watch is keeping good time to within 1 min per day, as tested over a 24 hour period. The stainless original big crown looks absolutely genuine to the watch and is in excellent condition hardly any wear. BAND: This fabulous SMITHS BRITISH MILITARY STYLE wrist watch has been fitted with a brand new quality black leather 15 mm LEATHER band. The band has a chromed white metal buckle. If you are a serious collector, the watch would probably benefit if you fitted a new NATO style canvas band but leather is my preference. THIS IS A FABULOUS AND RARE CIRCA 1968 SMITHS TIMEPIECE.
