The movement was given a complete overhaul this Nov 2024 new battery, clutch wheel & setting wheel. It runs strong, keeps time to within specs +/-30 seconds per day and both the day and date wheels roll over as they intended. This vintage 1980s Bulova Caravelle Deep Sea Diver has a black face and the original lume, which remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has a subtle green hue. Majority of the imperfections seen are on the crystal, not the dial. In person these imperfections are nearly visually imperceptible. The faded fat font bezel, which shows wear and ratchets unidirectional. The all stainless steel case shows some signs of age wear. The outer edge of the case back is stamped “BULOVA WATCH CO. P4 STAINLESS STEEL CASE WATER RESISTANT HONG KONG.” The 7 jewels unadjusted “BULOVA WATCH CO” stamped hacking quartz movement with day and date functions, keeps accurate time to within specs and both the day and date wheels roll over as they are intended. The movement was given a complete overhaul this Nov 2024. All days of the week are in black with the exception of Sunday which is in red. The day wheel is in both English and Spanish. The screw-down crown unscrews and screws back down securly. This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 8 mm. The crystal adds no measurable thickness and sits flush. This watch comes on with a black silicon band. Although the movement is currently running strong and keeping accurate time there are no warranties with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old, things can and do go wrong with vintage items. Any servicing costs from time of purchase are the responsibility of the buyer.
